True Blood

At the end of a closing day, the boys crossed the amusement park, as usual. But tonight, it will be different, David knew it. He smiled with satisfaction, thinking of the coming night.
He left the boys around the boardwalk and went to the merry-go-round. She was there, but she was alone. A disappointed grin crossed his face and she noticed it.

“He’s not here,” she told him, as he came to her.

“So, where is he?” he asked.

“He wants… no… I want to be sure that you won’t hurt him, David,” she continued.

“Sure, I won’t!”

Laure came closer to David and caught him by the collar of his coat. She approached a fearless face close to his, making him look deeper in her dark green eyes. Her long blonde hairs were floating in the soft wind. That was what he loved, she was not afraid of him.

“Listen to me attentively! I will let you meet him, but if you ever touch him, I will kill you myself, I promise!” she warned him with a menacing tone.

“Is that clear?”  She continued.

“Ok,” he just replied with a smirk. All he wanted was to see his eight years old son. He had never seen him, he had never heard about him before but now he knew and he was impatient.

When Laure told him that he was the father of her son, he did not believe her, but she showed him evidences. He couldn’t deny them. Laure released her grip on his coat.

“You know where the Hudson’s Bluff is, overlooking the point?” she asked mockingly.
David headed towards his bike as an invitation and Laure followed him. She saw Star with Laddie not far from there and Laure had a jealous feeling seeing her beauty. She reminded that Star was David’s girl. She sighed.

David drove very fast and Laure clenched her fingers in his long black coat, enjoying the trip. He stopped right at the edge of the cliff and looked down, he knew that Laure loved that frightening sensation.

Laure took a look at the chain and the warning signs which still closed the cave and it reminded her when she came there for the first time. She waved a hand towards the rocks and a young boy came to them. He was taller than most of the eight years old boys but his eyes betrayed his youth. He stayed by his mother and she pushed him softly on his back. He walked shyly towards David.

“Hello boy,” David said simply. What else could he say?

“So, you are my father?” the boy questioned.

“Yep! And what’s your name?” David knelt down to face the boy and had the sensation that he was looking at himself in a mirror. The boy was exactly like him, same eyes, same blonde hair…

“Andy.”

“Well, Andy, let me show you something!” David took his son by the hand and walked towards the cave. Laure followed them but said nothing, letting David enjoy his new responsibilities. As they entered the cave, Laure recognized the dirty place, the candles, the couch, David’s armchair and Star’s bed, where David and her had made love a few years ago.

“This is where you are going to live now,” David told Andy, opening his arms wide.

“No!” protested Laure.

“That’s not what you want?” David asked surprised, lifting an eyebrow.

“It’s quite simple, you just have to drink some of this,” he continued.
David grabbed the jewelled bottle and raised it to his lips, smelling the fragrance of the liquid. He drank a little from it and closed his eyes to enjoy it more intensely.

“Stop it,” Laure ordered. David laughed devilishly, he was the one who usually gave the orders but he loved the way she talked to him. He moved over to her and took her head between his hands. He leaned in to kiss her but she turned her head and pushed him back.

“Don’t touch me,” she yelled.

“Wow, I said that I won’t touch him, but I said nothing about you, darling!” David stated.  Laure wasn’t scared. She looked in his beautiful blue eyes and saw how much he still desired her. She remembered that she had been his a long time ago.

“And what about Star?” She asked.

“She won’t mind!”

“Really?”

David did not reply. He smiled at her, passed his fingers in her hair and kissed her. This time, she kissed him back, closing her eyes. She was melting with his touch, once more. That was why she wanted to avoid his contact.

Suddenly, she realised that Andy was playing with the bottle and she get really scared.

“Andy, no…” She shouted.
David moved so fast that they did not have the time to see him. He ran to the boy and grabbed the bottle from his hands, right in time.

“You’re a bit too young for that kind of drink,” David warned him.

Laure came to David and took the bottle. David thought that she was about to drink but she did not.

“He is my son, my blood is in his veins,” she stated.

“So is mine!” David answered firmly.
Laure couldn’t help but smile at David.

“It’s time to reveal you a secret,” she whispered softly in his ear.

“What is it?”
She did not reply but turned to him her vampire face … she was one of them, but David just discovered it now.

“How… ?” He started.

“Marko turned me while you were gone but, now, he will have to pay for that,” she answered. Before he had the time to react, she threw the jewelled bottle against the wall, enjoying the sound it made when it broke.

“No more turning now!” She ordered.

David just smiled. No matter if Marko has to pay for it, David was happy. He knew that, even if she had said no, she was back with him.
